Simmons Counseling and Consulting Services provides engaging, educational, and applicable sessions exploring topics related to race, gender, and sexuality for a variety of audiences. Below are some of our most requested workshops.
Gender 101
This workshop sets a foundation for audiences to understand the complexities of gender. Utilizing introspective activities and exercises, participants will engage with their own gender narratives as well as exploring the social construct of gender and its impact on micro and macro systems.

This performance workshop centers the power of stories and storytelling to encourage understanding of transgender lives and experiences.

Creating Inclusive Environments
In this customizable, multidimensional workshop focused on agencies, institutions, and organizations, participants will address issues impeding diversity and inclusion, such as exploring implicit and explicit biases. Through some lecture, dialogue, and activities, participants will walk away with more knowledge and awareness of issues relating to race, gender, and/or sexuality. They will also initiate a plan of action to address identified issues within their context.

Collaborative Consultation
We will work with you and your organization for an agreed upon amount of time to provide comprehensive assessment of the organization, agency, or institution’s environment and cultivate specific recommendations to address identified issues.
